Latina singer, Thalia gives birth to a baby girl

Thalia and her music mogul husband Tommy Mottola are celebrating after the Mexican singer gave birth to a baby girl on Sunday morning.

The 35-year-old artist gave birth in New York after a trying 20 hours in labor. The baby, who weighted 8 lbs 4 oz., will be named Sabrina Sakaë and it has two meanings. The first name means "princess" in English, and the second means "prosperity" in Japanese.

"Mother, father and baby Sabrina are all healthy and very happy and will be residing at their ranch in Colorado," the singer's rep said in a statement.

According to People en Español, Thalia said her husband, 58, has wanted to have kids together for years.

"If it had been up to Tommy, I would have had children from the first day we married. I would already have three or four," she said.

The singer also revealed she sees herself in the future as a mother to more children, "I see a big family in the picture," she was quoted by People as saying.
